FEATURING LAURA KLINKON AND MICHAEL PALMA:

a night of translations and original poetry

 Laura Klinkon’s poetry collections include Trying to Find You, Kitchen Abrasives, and Looking Askance. Her translation of Edna St.Vincent Millay’s sonnets, The Silent Lyre/La Lira Silente was published in 2018. Born in Sicily, she has worked in Washington, D.C., New York, and Rochester, N.Y. as an editor, writer, and translator.

Michael Palma’s poetry collections include A Fortune in Gold and Begin in Gladness. He has published eighteen translations of modern Italian poets and a fully rhymed translation of Dante’s Inferno (reprinted as a Norton Critical Edition). His most recent book is Faithful in My Fashion: Essays on the Translation

IAWA’s Literary Readings have moved to the NYPL Mulberry St. Branch
in the heart of Little Italy
 
Readings are scheduled 2-4 pm

Bernard Block and Rosalie Calabrese
 
Bernard Block, born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, hosts the Series “From Whitman to Ginsberg.”  Almost 40 poems have been published in the European literary journal, Levure Littéraire #8, #9 and #12.  His poetry collection Am I My Brother’s Keeper? (Dark Light Publishing) is available on Amazon.
 
Rosalie Calabrese is a native New Yorker and management consultant for the arts whose poems have appeared in Cosmopolitan, Poetry New Zealand, The New York Times, Critical Sociology, Psychoanalytic Perspectives and many other publications, including anthologies and on the Web. Her sixth chapbook, Remembering Chris was published by Poets Wear Prada.
