Matt Cariello’s latest poetry collection, Talk, won the Lauria/Frasca Prize, and was published in the spring of 2019 by Bordighera Press; while his first collection, A Boat That Can Carry Two/Una barca per due, won the 2010 Bordighera Poetry Prize and was published in a bilingual edition in 2011. 

His short stories, poems and reviews have appeared in the following journals, among others: Voices in Italian Americana (VIA), Ovunque Siamo, Poet Lore, Artful Dodge, The Evening Street Review, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, The Long Story, The Indiana Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, and The Journal

Cariello is a senior lecturer in the English department at The Ohio State University in Columbus.

Gail DiMaggio’s cycle of five “metta” poems won the Passager Poetry Competition for 2021. Her first book, Woman Prime(University of Alaska Press) was selected by Jericho Brown for the 2018 Permafrost Poetry Prize.

Her work has appeared recently in Valparaiso Poetry Journal, Whiskey Island, and Raw Arts Review where her poem “We Look into Fire” was a runner up for the Mirabai Prize.

Her second book, Ironworks, will be published by Variant Literature in 2022. She resides in Concord, New Hampshire.
