WHAT: Italian American Writers Association Literary Reading (www.iawa.net). Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its literary series every second Saturdayof the month. IAWA East is held even months at Sidewalk Café and IAWA West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months.

WHO: John Domini is a versatile writer who has garnered awards in a mix of genres. In 2014, Dzanc Books published a selection of John’s criticism, The Sea-God’s Herb, as well as electronic versions of his first four books. Over the next two years, Dzanc will publish a sequence of short stories, MOVIEOLA!, and novel The Color Inside a Melon. His poetry collection, The Grand McLuckless Road Atlas, was published by Pedestrian Press in 2013. Domini’s work has appeared in Paris Review, Ploughshares, GQ, The New York Times,Meridian and several anthologies, among other publications. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ingram-Merrill Foundation. He lives in Des Moines, IA. www.john@johndomini.com
Joseph Tirella wrote bestseller Tomorrow-Land: The 1964-65 World’s Fair and the Transformation of America from Lyon Press. The book, which Barnes & Noble selected for its “Discover Great New Writers program,” examines the impact of the 1964-65’s World’s Fair and its place in the turbulent 1960s. Writer and editor Tirella’s work has appeared in The New York Times, Vibe, Rolling Stone, Esquire, People, the Daily News, Portfolio.com, Reader’s Digest, and Fortune Small Business, among other publications. Tirella is a native of Queens.
