IAWA Celebrates National Poetry Month

WHO:

Wendy Galgan directs the Women’s Poetry Initiative at St. Francis College in Brooklyn and edits Assisi: An Online Journal of Arts & Letters there. Her poems have appeared in California Quarterly and The AFCU Journal, On Earth As It Is, and Forge.  Galgan’s work will appear in two upcoming anthologies, Villanelles and Grabbing the Apple: An Anthology of New York Women Poets. She has won a number of awards and honorable mentions recently. She Chairs the English Department at St. Francis.

Tony Gloeggler is a life-long Queens. His work has been recently published in Rattle, Paterson Literary Review, The Raleigh Review, Nerve Cowboy, The Chiron Review , The Columbia Poetry Review. His full length books include One Wish Left (Pavement Saw Press) and The Last Lie (NYQ Books). Last year, two new books were released: a collaboration with photographer Marco North Tony Come Back August (Bittersweet Editions), and Until The Last Light Leaves (NYQ Books). Much of his work focuses his relationships with members of group homes for the developmentally disabled.
