The Italian American Writers Association is celebrating its 27th Anniversary.
Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its literary series every 2nd Saturday of the month.
Readings begin with an Open Mic:
IAWA-East is held even months at Sidewalk Café and IAWA-West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months.

Amy Barone’s new poetry collection, We Became Summer, from New York Quarterly Books, will be released in 2018. She wrote chapbooks, Kamikaze Dance(Finishing Line Press) and Views from the Driveway(Foothills Publishing.) Her poetry has appeared in Café Review, Standpoint (UK), Pater son Literary Review, Philadelphia Poets and Sensitive Skin, among other publications. Barone spent five years as Italian correspondent for Women’s Wear Daily and Advertising Age. From Bryn Mawr, PA, she lives in New York City.
Joey Nicoletti is the author of three full-length poetry collections and four chapbooks, the most recent of which are Thundersnow (Grandma Moses Press, 2017) and Counterfeit Moon (NightBallet Press, 2016). A Sewanee and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference alumnus, he holds degrees from the University of Iowa, New Mexico State University, and Sarah Lawrence College. His poems, nonfiction essays, and book reviews have appeared in numerous magazines, and his awards include a Pushcart Prize nomination and a Buffalo State Faculty Appreciation Award for teaching.
